Giving Back This Christmas

We’ve been talking about servant leadership and pride this week. In my life, the only way I’ve found to combat my pride is to seek out opportunities to be humbled. Serving others with our time, talents, and resources is the way to do just that. Most importantly, it’s simply the right thing to do.

Not only is service what God has called us to do with our lives, but it is the most enriching experience that we will ever take part in. Let’s look at a few ways to give back to our communities and fellow man today. You’ll be surprised at what you learn about yourself along the way. I always am.

Servant LeadershipI wanted to share this week’s devotional with everyone because I think we all need to be reminded of the importance of servant leadership.

“Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”
